Ok, so I modified my 12 gal Nanocube DX to add a heater to the remove everything from the 2nd chamber and placed LR in there, and then placed a heater in the 3rd chamber.
I put the carbon bag back in on top of the 2nd chamber, and left the sponges in the first chamber. My question is whether the sponges are actually doing any good, and if not, should I just put more LR in that first chamber, or possibly something else?
Also, to anyone who hasn't modded the Cube, where do you get your replacement media from? I haven't seen it at either of the LFS I visit. I know JBJ sells direct, and the 2 docs have it, but I'm just wondering if anyone has a better place (PM is ok).
Another question is how to reduce the small particles of sand/smashed LR that are floating in the water. Every time I look at the tank wrong it gets cloudy, and it still hasn't reached the level of cleanliness I have in my other tank.
