The stand is made of 3/4 inch oak and the top and bottum frame is pine. This is what I got done today. I will post more picts as I get more done

From the first pic it looks like you're going to have recessed doors? I was just wondering if you were planning on having extra space around the door itself and use external hinges or keep the door large and use internal?

I am planning on using large external doors. I am also going to put 2 by 2 braces in the corners and in the middle front and back. There will be 2- 2" vertical braces where the doors will meet together. There will be two sets of two doors with trim around the doors. The picture does not really show the rounded trim very well but it is there on the top and bottum. I am not sure if I will use internal or external hinges.

Well the only thing left to do is put on the last door and move the reef in. The canopy will be the next project

Looks great! I'm tossing around the idea of building my own stand and canopy for a 100gal once I'm ready to move up. Do you have a connection for the oak, or are you paying full retail? If you dont mind...how much did all that oak set you back?
thnx!
Keep the pics coming!

After all of the wood, glue, screws, stain and sealer I spent about 175 dollars and about 12 hours work not counting drying times. I figure that the canopy should run no more than 100 dollars and I will have wood left over.
