125 Gal Setup?

I have been reading a lot of the posting about how to get started. I am not quite sure what all the abbreviations mean. I was hoping someone could explain them to me. I am wanting to setup a 125 gallon tank, and I wanted some advice, other than from the local store. So I hope that some one can help me out.

Will you be setting up a FOWLR or just a reef with LR/LS. Make sure you use RO/DI water. Just kidding. If you can explain what you would like to keep in the 125 eventually that will make system recommendations easier. Are you wishing to keep corals? Softies... LPS... SPS... just kidding again. Seriously though elaborate on what you would like to have.

I am looking to put a bamboo shark and maybe some other tangs in it.
