125 Gallon Tank Question

Hi All, I wanted to know what is the going rate for a new 125 tank pre-drilled with an oak stand and canopy. i know prices can range widely for lights so we can leave that out. Just want to get a feel for how much this will run me. thanxs

Around where I live for a new 125g tank w/stand and canopy It would cost around $1,500, but different areas have different prices.

Predrilled with oak stand and canopy is HIGH END stuff,so I would agree that around 12-1500 bucks would be a good guess...

Yeah, I'd say that's right. Jeff, a LFS owner, gets the 125 setups for $1200. The main reason for the expense is that to get the canopy in a 125, you have to go with the Modern series stands, which are made by Oceanic. For some reason that's the only series that is made to fit the 125. So, I'm thinking, if a LFS is getting a good deal on the tank, stand, and canopy for $1200, the price to the consumer will be considerably higher. So, I'd say $1200 is the minimum.

My LFS sells a 125 reef ready with built in overflows complete for 1099. This includes everything except LR, Fish, and water. That is with wet/dry, complete setup in home. The overflows aren't drilled in the bottom yet, they do that onsite to your specs. They plumb it and everything. The LFS I am talking about is on the web, but I don't know what they do for people outside of Jacksonville. I got my 125 gal. off of E-Bay. It's all glass, not pre drilled, but in EXCELLENT condition. It came with: glass tops, 2 3' FL stips w/2 bulbs each, black wood stand (looks absolutely brand new), 2 emporer 400's w/bio wheels (which I put carbon filter cartiridges in and use for water movement). The seller also gave me a CPR sump/protein skimmer w/bio balls, and two RIO pumps. I got all of this for $550.00.
