I've been holding off an update as I wanted to include my TwoSpot butterfly that was suppose to go in today, but I noticed over the weekend a couple Ich spots pop up.
So anyway, I rebuilt the rock formation on the right. Wanted to have a nasty looking shelf so the fish could hang out under it. You really don't get the impression of how much it overhangs, but it's out there. The bottom rocks are drilled, and rod/epoxy'ed together. A boulder on top of the shelf holds it in place. You also really don't notice the 2nd shelf, the bleached cap is resting on, all the way on the right side, but I'm pumped I managed to get it work.
The left side has been mostly like that since I started the tank in 2006. A gigantic shelf rock (22"x17", easy 35lbs) on top of 3 boulders in the sand, with a 40lb boulder on top (what the green cap is growing on).
The biggest thing for me, is having rocks that go all the way to the top of the water (the left side actually breeches
). Also, I wanted to open up some real estate, as eventually, one day, the 125 is actually going to be decently stocked...
