15g Tall - Add 20g Sump (worth it)??

I have a 15g Tall SW Display tank. I don't have room under the tank for a sump, however I have been thinking of running a 20g off to the side.
A SW friend of mine showed me how to connect another tank to mine that is level with my show tank but tucked away.
I have a spare 20g, and I'm told I'd just need 2 maxi-jet's.
1 stabilizing tube, connected with a maxi-jet you'd use once a few days to clear out any bubbles.
1 tube connected with a maxi-jet that runs all the time, with a ball joint to slow down the flow.
Opinions? I'm thinking this might be more benifitial then a skimmer (esp because I don't have room for one really... lol)

My neighbor has an adult engineer goby, and its gotta be about 6 inches long. Be careful adding him, and at least make sure hes got alot of sand to play in.

i say adding one will help you out. im adding one to my 28 and im in the same situation youre in. i dont have room under the tank and i cant take it apart to drill. so i just bought an overflow box, bought a flexible hose for it to drain to the sump to the right, and im going to have an iwaki pump as a return. i need one for a refugium to have pods growing, put a skimmer, and also to place my heater. not to mention your tank will be a lot more stable with the added volume
