I have a 16 gallon hex nano tank that has been up for two months. All water parameters good, ammonia and nitrite 0 nitrate 15. It has 20lbs of live rock and 20lbs of live sand, with a HOB magnum filter rated at 250 gph. Was wondering if i need to put an additional powerhead in the tank for turnover? Also, the filter currently has filter media in it, could i replace it with LR rubble and chaeto for additional filtration? I am planning on having 2-3 fish, clean up crew and some corals, looking at starting off with some ricordia, mushrooms and featherdusters. I currently have a compact fluroscent light, 15watt i believe, want to upgrade but not go insane like a metal halide. any suggestions? Wanted to put in a coral banded shrimp but think i will hold off for a few months until the tank matures. Want to put in 10 nassirius and 10 astreal snails, 5 blue leg and 5 red leg crabs and 2 green emerald crabs. would also like to put in a cleaner clam and small brittle star but will wait to put in with the shrimp at a later date. Not sure what kinds of fish, was thinking of a 6 line wrasse and maybe a fridmani or purple pseudochromis, and a true percula? What other fish would work in this type of tank setup? Thanks for all your help.

u could put cheato and lr inside the hob filter, but will need to get a clip-on light for the cheato. cheato needs light to live and do its job. the corals and fish u mention will be fine. if u feel ur tank is not getting enought water movement, a powerhead would certainly be benficial.

Any other suggestions for fish in this size tank?

Would it be possible to do a mini fuge behind my display tank maybe 5-10 gallon? how would i plumb it into my display tank, 16 gal hex? Could i have the water go thru my Hob filter then into the fuge then back into the display tank? Or would that just be an over kill. Thanks for the help
