16 Inck snow flaked Ell

HI I just got a 16 inch snow flake ell ,It will not Eat nothing, krille, shrimp , brime shrimp nothing ,I got him some rosey red gold fish ,nothing ,,,Anybody have any idyas , would need the help dont want him to parisse,,.starving Ell

silversides should work and give him time. They can go a very long time without eating so dont worry.

silversides, frozen, soaked in garlic extreme. He can go a week or two without eating. Alot of times they will hide until hungry when you first get them. When he starts cruising the tank, he wants to eat.

My snowflake refuses to eat anything but shrimp, no octapus, squid, etc, so you can try shrimp to see if yours is picky like mine. As hot883 said once the eel swims out, normally when the lights are off, they are hungery. My eel has gone 2 months with no food when I moved him into a smaller tank for killing the fish in the bigger tank.

eels can go months without eating. I had a tess that went a month without eating.

I have had alot of success with clams on a half shell. They are not primarily fish eaters (look at their teeth) so it would not feed him fish. That way he doesnt consider the fish in your tank food. I also feed him krill and whole clams right soaked in nutrients. Good luck.

Dont sweat it if the eel dont eat for a few weeks or months. give jim a few days without trying to feed than try fresh uncooked shrimp soaked in garlic xtreme. If it still dont eat try again in few days.
