recommendations for powerheads on new 180. tunze's are close to 900 bucks for two heads. can i get a similar result for less??? just wondering if the $900 tunzes are worth the money or if its overkill. plan on doing a simple reef system ie hardy soft corals, anenomes, etc.

tunze is very expensive! I am using a red sea wave maker, 4 maxijet 1200's with 2 ofthe Hydor ocillating heads. that combo plus the main return give plenty of interupted water movement. the best part is that it costs $265.

Your 180 will be close to my 210. I have 2 quiet one 6000's returning water from sump. Then 2 Seio M1100's on either end with 4 Maxi jet 1200's with the oscilating/rotatating attachments. The combination is great. But if I were to do it again I would simply go with return pumps from sump and then 2 closed loop systems. Reasoning is less stuff in actual display tank!
