Lions, puffers, triggers, eels, wrasses, groupers, hawks, eels, and even sometimes large angels are all considered "aggressive" fish. However, you would just need to be careful mismatching between them. For instance, you cannot have a trigger with a lion, and I would not recommend a puffer with an eel. Also remember, somethings, like groupers and wrasses can only go one to a tank.
You really need to post fish you like and then we can go from there though. You can have all kinds of different fish in a tank that size.

MO!
1 Violitan Lion
1 Large Angel -Your choicerec(EmPorer)
2 OF THESE 3 TRIGGERS (nIGER,hUMA,bLUEJAW)
1 EEL-- YOU PICK --I HAVE GOLDENTAILY
1 OR 2 TANGS- iLIKE YELLOW & PURPLE bUT YOU CANT HAVE BOTH AT THE SAME TIME!
1 GROUPER /mINIATUS OR PANTHER
1 WRASSE--- I LIKE HARLEQUIN TUSK
1 PUFFER-- YOU PICK--I HAVE A STARS AND STRIPE
CONSIDERATIONS!!!!
SINCE YOU ITS A LARGE TANK YOU MAY WANT SOME MORE MORE AGGRESSIVE FISH LIKE SHARKS OR DIFFERENT TRIGGERS.
MOST PEOPLE LIKE CLOWN TRIGGERS ..THEY ARE COOL..BUT I DIDNT ADD THAT IN THE LIST BECAUSE THEY ARE FIN NIPPERS--AND THE COOL LIONFISH HAVE VERY LONG FINS..SO IF YOU WANT THE CLOWN NO LION!! AND NO TRIGGERS OR PUFFERS CAN BE KEPT WITH SHARKS

Woah, hold up. You cannot put a Humu Humu Trigger with a volitan lion. You are just looking for trouble and they will do the same thing that a clown trigger will do to a lion. I don't know where people got this notion that Humu Humu's are one of the peaceful triggers, but they definitely are not.
Secondly, that is a HUGE bioload for a 180. A 180 is not that large of a tank and cannot house that many meat-eating fish unless the filtration system was maxed out. I am talking about a large sump and refugium, 200 lbs. of live rock, the best protein skimmer, 4 powerheads to move debris off the bottom, and very frequent water changes. Even then, you are going to have crowding problems. That fishload is just too much for a 180.
Lastly... NO SHARKS (or stingrays) CAN GO IN A 180! A 180 is TOO SMALL TO HAVE ONE SHARK IN!

wow this is fun...what i'd do if i had a 180....
...i'd go
emperor angel
harlequin tusk or banana wrasse
clown trigger
powder blue tang
2-3 true percs
a mandarin...just cause they're cool
maybe a small puffer
yea that's bout perfect for a 180

Yeah, that isn't a bad little stocking list for a 180. The only thing I would worry about there is the clown trigger with such peaceful fish as a mandarin. Everything else would probably work out fine.

I meant to say 8 of those 10 fish can go in that 180--- if you get a grouper only 7.
I see tanks of clown triggers with lions..running for years.no problems! If you say matter of time Your wrong! I have a huma and a lion..guess whos the boss! But it all does depend on the triggers personality ,,also the lions.
ps.. Banded cat sharks can go in a 180 for most of its life!and people tend to forget about the shark cleaner

My op If you get 7 or more fish- get no more than 100 lbs of lr and no less. With proper filtration and water movement as lion said your bioload will be fine. Water conditions is the first most important thing ..next Is to Give the fish As much swimming room as poss...I have a 125 with 50 lbs lr
1 goldentail
1huma
1 emp angel
1 yellow tang
1 heniochus butterfly
1 harlequin tusk
1 violitan lion
1 general star
1 longnose hawkfish

[hr]
perfect water conditions..and plenty of swimming room so the dont stress

well thanks for all the replies. I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with titan triggers at all. If i get one it will be the only thing in there. I hear they get huge and the 180 will probably not be big enough in a few years

Not to post hijack, but PufferBware, what do you run for filtration? Also how often do you feed and how often do you do water changes?

Yeah they get huge. They are also known to bite divers in the wild and just take a look at ones teeth looks like when it's full grown

Wait... you are turning over your tank less than 5 times per hour!? Do you have any powerheads in your tank? I am sorry to be asking you so many questions but I just can't figure out how you keep "perfect water conditions" with the information you've given. I am always looking for better ways to keep my tank clean and the nitrates low and I am always open to new suggestions that I have not heard of or possibly thought of. I have a 75 gallon tank that I have stocked appropriately (not overstocked). My filtration system includes 90 lbs. of live rock, thin later of aragonite as my substrate, refugium, protein skimmer that is rated for a 150, I feed 3 to 4 times per week, and I do 10% water changes every week and I find myself on the borderline of possibly having nitrate problems (they are currently at 20ppm). My wet/dry pump moves the water 700 gph, and I also have 2 powerheads in the tank that collectively move the water 350 gph.
Again, I am not trying to pester you with questions, but I am just curious as to how you keep "perfect water" with such a stocked 125. What is your nitrate level in your tank?

I dont Mind at all--- I learned alot in my 8 months of this hobby. I suffered a tank wipeout due to ich! I Now have things going good for me... I have 2 strong powerheads in my tank not sure of the gph.. There arnt too many motionless spots in my tank..i have 2 large hardy stars and some larger crabs that my aggressive fish wont touch..and im sure those guys do a nice cleanup...My tank isnt a super tank--if i wait 3 weeks or so My NITRITE will go to .25 nothing a water change cant handle..besides that everything is fine, I also have an excellant UV if that means anything to you......If you want i Posted pics of my tank--you can do a search...The Subject is COMMUNITY TANK--it changed a litttle since then.... I dont think im doing anything special It may sound like i have a large bioload but if you look at my tank--you will clearly see The free swimming room the fish have which is the most IMPORTANT...Feel free to ask anymore ?'s because i may have some for you

Well, thanks PufferBWare. Not that I am having problems, but like I said, I am always looking to learn new things from the experience of others. I wasn't criticizing you or your tank or anything, I was just curious. If you have any questions for me, feel free to ask.

The best scenario would be for a volitan lion to already been established in the tank for sometime, and be twice the size of the humu humu when you get him.

Volitans swim arounnd the most, in my opinion.

My favorite lion is the volitan because I think they are so majestic looking. I don't favor radiatas because I don't really care for the pointy fins that they have. I love dwarf fuzzy lions though.
