1st corals so far

today i got some kind of polypy coral, and not the bumpy kind
not sure exactly what it is but it has like greenish polyps on it, and its skeleton is kinda red
put it right under my 12 k, although as much light as i have on my 75 i could probably put it on the sand and it would grow fine
im gonna have 500 watss of 12k halide, plus a dusk to dawn of 220 watts of vho, and also, the bottom of the halide bright as heck moonlights.
is there anything else i can do to make these little guys happy besides trying to keep my tank full of calcium, and good water flow??

Whats your setup like? Milleporas are SPS corals, and require really intense levels of light and flow.

This is only the begining of a money pit. Nice start. I just started a reef tank in Jan and all I can say to keep SPS happy is test for everyting and try to keep it stable.
