I just looked behind my tank and saw these things in my skimmer! Can anyone tell me what they are? (I assume they have something to do with the snails in my CUC). What do I do with them? Do I need to get them out?
BTW - my dotty's still doing great and just about ready to go into the DT.

Sponges. I had the same things in mine. I had to hand scrub them out when I upgraded my skimmer.
Good filter feeders.

They don't seem too move much. The only movement I could see was probably caused the water flow around them. We feed mysis shrimp. The only cover on the intake is the plastic one that came from the manufacturer (it's a Coralife 65).

Yeah, sponges. They'll have a population explosion if your tank is high in nutrients (excess food, etc). They're harmless, but if you want them to stop growing so much you could feed a little less.
