My tank (46 bow) is cycling
I have added live rock 25 lbs + live sand 40 lbs from 2 local places
I have a few questions about how to Identify WHAT I have growing on my live rocks. these have emerged since getting them home and under lights. I need to be able to feed them so ID is urgent. To my suprise all of these have been living durring the cycling process. I want to help them all I can.

Small anemone
Polyup brown many of these pictured
I also have a weird something growing on one of the live rocks
It looks like underwater spider web
the current makes it wave, it's white, it's somewhat transparent

ok well... in your first pic.. .you probally have atispia (sp?) and that is a little pest anemone, in order to get rid of these guys, you need to inject them with joes juice or boiling water and i also think lemon juice may work but am not sure...then the purple stuff is coraline alage which is a good thing...(in time it will cover everything) and the last picture are some kind of zoanthid or button polop...a softie coral and very easy to take care of :)

I know about the aptashia
There are reports of the lemon juice killing more
then just the aptashia
I will be adding shrimp for the removal process
The same pic
Just a bit lower on the rock
There is an anemone
It moves freely about the surface of that rock only
I am just asking what to feed a small anemone?
GROUND silver side parts?
some frozen type food?
The cardboard legs work for now but
I need a real/longterm alternative.

you could use eggcrate to either cover the to of the tank and allow the light to rest on it (spray paint it black for a good look). or you could use zip ties and eggcrate to make legs and spray paint them. the aptasia will go away if you inject it with boiling water, lemon juice, joes juice.... or you could boil joe's juice with lemon mixed in
lol.
