This is my challenge: to successfully set up and maintain a two gallon tank with 1 shrimp, 1 neon goby, and a few mushroom corals, as well as macroalgae. It will act as a sort of fuge for my 55.
Anyone successfully kept a tank this small out there? If so, what did you stock?

I have a 5 Gallon that I sectioned off the back of it to have a mini fuge. All that is in it right now is a Hermit and 2 zoos though. I will be fragging from my main tank tomorrow though and will have a pistol shrimp and yasha goby in it. https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/305158/juice-1080s-5-5-gallon-reef-diary
beenbag, haha, I saw all four of you! Ah, two of you look like twins, and I can't tell which is you so that I can say "hi"! Ack, next time, tell me which one you are. The name's Brittany, btw. xD
juice, sweet tank. Me likes.
When you say "fuge" are you implying that you are going to plumb it into your 55g? or is this going to be a seperate tank all together? I am not sure if I would plumb a 2 gallon into a 55. It would be way to hard to control the water flow and all that good stuff with 2 gallons to work with.
If you are looking for a small tank there is a all inclusive kit if you wanted to go that route....well two of them that I know of
The TOM Deco Kit (3gal)
JBJ Picotope
From what I have heard the TOM kit is better, the only downside is that its acrylic unless you prefer that (I hate acrylic) otherwise it has a better filter and brighter lights.
I was going to buy the Deco Kit until I decided to build my own.
I am actually thinking of tearing this one down and building my own tank that is square and around 4-5g and putting the same filtration system in the back.
It's gonna be a separate tank, but I won't have anything to eat the algae. Thanks for the list, but I've already ordered mine. The lights are only PCs, and the filtration looks okay-ish, but I only want mushrooms and algae, and I will always have the tank's weight in fresh saltwater ready in case of an emergency.

No problem, All I have is PC on mine too. You can't get T-5's for such a small tank and a MH would be really hard to do on such a small tank. Luckily for tanks like these keeping the entire volume of the tank backed up with fresh saltwater does not take much space at all.
Good luck with your setup, Looking forward to hopefully seeing some pics in the future.
One quick suggestion though, If the tank you ordered doesn't have a glass top or something like that I would highly suggest it. I didn't have one on mine at first and I lost water like crazy and my salinity would jump from 1.026-1.031 in a matter of 8 hours. Either that or be prepared to top off a couple times a day.
