2 lawn mowers

My lawnmower is a mean little jerk. Everytime I put my hand in the tank he come out to bite me and I have to poke at him to get him to leave me alone. I would think they would fight each other, but it could be fine in a big tank like that.

I have been told that you can keep only one, they are pretty territorial. And unless you have a SERIOUS hair algae problem 2 might likely starve.

Is it normal for these fish to be so shy?
I dont notice him out much, he stays in the rocks
I can't tell if he's eating, but I bought some algae sheets for him to eat just incase
any hints/comments on keeping these lil guys?
