Hello everyone!
Well I went to my LFS this weekend and picked up a Dog Face Puffer and a Sweetlips Clown
Here's some pics of em. They are so cool! The puffer is eating frozen brine and the clown eats pretty much everything! Enjoy the pics!

Hopefully you have a VERY large system because that sweetlips gets 24" and VERY UGLY. Stop feeding brine as you are starving the poor fish. Research what brine is and does. Not beneficial AT ALL once it is a day old or so. Good luck.

Brine is shrimp, and there is nothing wrong with feeding brine, and if its frozen last alot longer than a day.

I disagree, its really not a good meal for fish unless its an occasional treat.

Most frozen brine is sold enriched - so it really isn't like feeding it live brine, which are useless. The poster said he is feeding frozen brine. But a variety is a good thing.

sorry to go a bit offtopic, but for those who say brine is not good, what do you feed? I know so many ppl that just feed brine. I feed mysis and cyclop-eeze as well as brine, but mostly brine. Should I add something else?

Hi,
I use frozen Formula A & B , blood worms, frozen brine smetimes ( not all the time) and marine flakes. I give them a good mixture.
Thanks,

cool. I will have to look at that. When I put them back in my maintank, I will start feeding more cyclop-eeze than brine shrimp, and maybe more mysis too. Thanks.

Variety is the spice of life, including for fish. The puffer would appreciate any large meaty things: krill, silversides, prawn. I'd suspect that Clown would also. Otherwise, a decent LFS will have a variety of things in their freezers: Formula 1, Special Formula VHP, Prime Reef, Marine Cuisine, Mysis, Mussels, Clam, etc. etc. You can also give them dried foods on occasion (soak it in tank water before serving) like Plankton, Pellets, flakes. Just mix and match. My freezer generally has as much fish food as it does human food. I'd say the variety I offered was so big that they didn't eat the same dish more than 3 times a month!
As far as brine, live brine shrimp is like eating popcorn. But the frozen or freeze-dried varities tend to be sold enriched, so the fish will be getting some vitamins.

Sounds cool,
Yeah I try and mix and match and keep like 3 trays of frozen food in the freezer at a time. Yeah the puffer really really likes this Jumbo Krill got him. The other fish like it also but he really gets moving once he spots it.
