2 questions about ricordia

I got 3 ricordia polyps today. First, do I attach them to rock the same way I would mushrooms (mesh over the polyp keeping the against a rock for 2 weeks)? Second, do they bleach? All 3 polyps are green, but one is significantly lighter than the other two.

Yup...they could be attached that way. I've had luck just placing them in a area where they won't get blown away in the current...then in time they will attach.
I've never had ricordia bleach...but I have had a few frilly 'shrooms go white after falling behind the rock...in time they rebounded just fine. I'd assume the same could be true with ricordias.:thinking:

The light one may be just that... a lighter color variation. But the shade makes it look like it is bleached. It's in my tank, starting to open, and in good light... so I'm sure it will be fine.

I did the same as nmreef and just put it in my tank in area that didnt heve much water flow and with in 2 days attached it self to a frag of lr and then i moved were i want to it seemed like hi lite made it attach faster

I purchased a bleached Ric about a week ago. I am patiently waiting to see if it regains its color. Its going to be a surprise becuase i have no idea what color it will be. Hopefully a pretty one!
