Just hooked up a Maxcap add on 2 stage DI unit to my 4 stage RO unit and went from 003 ppm TDS to 000 TDS. I must have some good tap water because i havent changed my RO membrane in over a year.

That is great, it does sound like you have some decent raw water. I don't run the maxcap system, but I do have a dual DI chamber setup(full size, not the small horizontal ones), my ro water comes out at between 4 and 2, then the DI cleans it up to zero. I just got my system(Spectrapure) in the spring, DI cartridges are still going strong, I was sure I'd still have to replace these at 3 month or so intervals. Oh, we have a water softener too, that helps extend membrane life along with weekly or after every use backflushing the membrane. Good luck, I hope it keeps up those numbers or lack of numbers, I guess. Have a good one.

We probably have the same system as Spectrapure makes the Maxcap Dual with the TDS meter.Either way im happy to know that my water quality will be high.

I used to buy RO water then run it through a .5micron filter(it would sometimes get some dirt in it from filling and transporting) then the DI, I got a Spectrapure 90GPD unit, then took out the micron filter I was using for the old setup, and put in another DI cartridge. I will probably try the MaxCap type when I need to change the DI resins, but yes it is basically the same setup, I just didn't buy the Dual MaxCap system, I kind of already had that part with my old method. I just have to change one of the DI canisters with the silica-buster resins to get the full effect, me thinks. Either way the TDS has been reading zero from day one and have been happy ever since. Have a good one, I hope your Acros pull through with a full recovery.
