sad new, one of the clowns found their way into the overflow, and wound up dead in my sump
I decided to redo the overflow differently because of it, so I moved my fish to the 125 I have, and now its MIA...so their goes my 2 clowns

Anyway, I picked up a hammer coral frag thats sitting in my 125 till I fix the 20.

Maybe some kind of a cap on the overflow in the tank, to make sure you only get water and large-ish debris, and it doesnt block the waterflow, but the worst a fish could get would be suctioned to it. Just an idea.
For the whole thing, youve done a really good job. Nice design and all.

Well, after I got super ultra mega pissed about the maroons. I decided to rebuild EVERYTHING (that plus I was bored). Moved all the coral and rock to my 125. Reduced the distance from my tank to the fuge, changed the style of the overflow, and did a 20 gallon water change on my 125, and put that established water into my 20 gallon. Put everything back together, and a lil diatom algae growth in less than 24 hours
. gotta love established water. anyway, corals back in and doing great, picked up 2 false percs, also doing great, and I picked up some more inverts. ill take some pics later tonite.

well, more and more problems keep happening, and I no longer have the time to fix them, after I added the gobies, they were eating and active...they were dead when i woke up this morning. parameters last night were:
nitrates:0
nitrites:0
PH:8.2
Ammonia:0
the dead gobies in such a small tank caused a big ammonia spike.
nitrate:0
nitrites:0
PH:8.2
Ammonia:0.3
which resulted in one of the clowns being sick. Coral is thriving...but fish are dying left and right.
I will be givin the coral to my dad. and selling everything as a whole for a loss

I just dont have time to deal w/ all these problems between school and work, ill just take the money and reinvest it back into my aggressive and future pond.

I think soon I might have to try this....I was really enjoying reading this and seeing what new things you were trying....sorry you stopped. I think you should try again.

well, coral is thriving, and i mean thriving, ive counted 7 new baby polyps on my zoa rock in the last 24 hours. its just the fish not doing well. Im acutally thinking im going to keep the tank and leave the zoas/xenia in it, and use it as an egg tank for my sharks ^^. I should be pickin up a new bamboo shark egg sometime in the next month...so i figure, this woudl be a good place to get it started.
as i was doing the build...I came to the conclusion that, reef just isnt my bag of tea, i mean, when i started, i always regreted not doing a reef tank, i started this because of it, and well, i learned, that im not really 100% interested in reef tanks, Im just in love w/ aggressive
over the next few months, i should have my pond up, and ill make another buildup for that. waht can i say, my shark and ray deserve a new home

stick with what you like, just cause its saltwater doesnt mean it has to be reef. and besides reef are much more expensive.......but dont give up cause you think you cant pull it off.

honestly i think you might just have added fish to fast. let the tank run with the corals for a while and if you want add fish. the shark should be fine for a while with fish in there, until it gets a certain size. but also dont get discouraged and give up. if you have an aggresive than you can keep fish. the only thing diff about aggresive tank and a reef tank is basically the corals. so just keep that in mind before you throw in the towel.

im not throwing in the towel, i just kinda came to the conclusion...i prefer aggressive over reef in the middle of the build lol. i mean, the experience was great, and im glad i did it, because now im more dedicated to my aggressive setup. as for shark tank, i wanna just use it till the sharks hatch and eat their yolk, once they pass that phase, they will go into a lil side tank attached to the pond im piecing together.
water was established water from my aggressive, trates/trites 0, ammonia 0, and ph 8.2...and it hasnt changed...lol.

Hey , did you buy those twin spots aka 4 wheel drive gobies together or seperate ? I had bought 2 but one had bad fins on him and i didnt notice until i got it home and it didnt make it past the first day due to not being able to swim properly. The other one is doing great and i was wondering if i could add another for it. Let me know. Thanks

nope, tank has been taken apart, coral and such sold, and will be put back together as a frag only tank once my dads new house is up (since he will be payin for the power ^^).
I bought the 4 wheelers as a mated pair.
The 4 wheelers and the clowns were all taken down by my killer emerald crab
(which I caught and fed to my puffer). That emerald succesfully ate 2 radioactive mushrooms, 3 clowns, 2 4 wheelgobies, 1 seaslug, 1 chromis, part of my xenia, 3 zoanthid polyps, and attempt to eat me when I moved the rocks outa the way to catch him.
