I am going to switch my 92 gallon FO tank over to a reef tank. while i put the sand and live rock in the tank i am going to take my 2 hippo tangs and 3 perc clowns and quarentine them. I was wondering if a 20gallon tank would be suitable for this. THey wouldnt be in there very long. I just need a place to put them while i switch everything over. I also want to treat them with hypo just to make sure their ich is completely gone. they came down with it about 6 weeks ago and were treated but i just want to make sure.

it depends on your tangs, tangs need space to swims. u going to put 2 tangs, and 3 clowns in 20 gallons for how long???? if u doing hyposalinity in 20 gallons with that many fishs, i don't think is good idea, cause u need to leave the fish in the tank for 4 weeks minimum. may be 20 gallons and 10 gallons?, put the 3 clowns in 10 and 2 tangs in 20. by the way how bigs are your tangs?

I don't think it'll be a problem as long as they aren't in there for long. I would try and get another tank if you could and split the two, just to make sure the don't freak out... also make sure the 20 gallon tanks are covered so they don't try and commit suicide.
Also, make sure you acclimate them well and make yer tranfer quick. Try and do as much as possible that doesn't require them being in those tanks before you put them there. You could also use clean trash cans if you have any, the low light may actually be better so not to scare them.

My tangs are small yet. They are probably only about 3 inches in length. The clownfish might be an inch and a half or 2 at the most.
