Hi everyone. I'm in the process of starting a 20g reef tank for my girl friend and would like some advice. I've got a 280 gallon reef tank allready set up that has a diary in the aggressive section as well. I've never set up a tank this small with the intentions of adding some sps. I'm going to fill the tank off of mine and take some LR out of my sump to get it going. We'd like to run metal halides for lighting and was figuring around 150w. Anyone have a reconmendation on what fixture is good for the money??The light will be visible so appearance does matter. I've been looking at a sunpod fixture 1x150w w/ 6 blue and 6 white leds.
This tank is mainly for coral and will have a really light fish load. We'd like the availability off housing most corals. I've got a HOB filter for now but definitely plan on upgrading that or at least adding a HOB skimmer to help, any reconmendations here?? and we plan on buying a MP10 for flow. Would a deep sand bed be beneficial to the tank? I was figuring maybe 40 pounds?
Right now the tank is outside drying from painting the back of it but once I have water and rock in I'll post some pictures.

edit: Would a reef octopus BH 100 hang on the back protein skimmer be too overkill? It's a good price and i'd figure the basic HOB filter with this skimmer should be plenty sufficient, or am I off?
