I was peering into the tank tonight and noticed a looooooooonngggg bristle crawl out of one of my rocks. from what i could make of it the thing was atleast 2 feet in length... unfortunately im not exagerating
I just need some tips and ideas on a trap to get rid of him. I dont mind about the other tiny ones (around 2" or less) but this one just creeps me out!
Thanks Everyone :)

2 liter bottle and a piece of shrimp inside it lol... and wait at night using a red flashlight to spot it.

i had a bristle worm attack and kill a nassarius snail last night.
i also heard you can put food in a foot of a nylon stocking and tie it in a knot. supposedly they can get in but not back out and you will not catch anything else.
a few weeks ago i tried the 2 liter bottle and another DIY trap and just kept catching my nassarius snails. im gonna do the stocking thing soon

I don't think it's that they can get in (as you put the food in then tie it off in a knot), but rather they get their many 'bristles' stuck in the netting and can't get away. What worries me is that all I envision is the whole thing being bombarded by snails. You know how they all congregate in a massive ball when something dies or a piece of food falls to the bottom? But maybe when they see the worm coming they will move away. I have never tried this either, so I am curious as to your results. Please advise when you try.

will do everyone. I still haven't gotten the chance yet cause of work but this week i will get that trap set and gladly post pics

I tried the 2 liter bottle method...with no success.
I caught my cleaner wrasse who freaked out, my clown goby thought he could use it as a new home, and the hermits stayed running on it like a treadmill trying to get in...all while the snails went in and got trapped.

I am having a similar dilema in my tank although mine isn't nearly that large, and I have not had success with the bottle trap either. Discovered it's an easy way to count the number of nassarius snails left in your tank though. I have been sceptical about the stocking idea so I am curious to see how it will work for you.

ok i lied....my wife couldn't find any nylons so i will buy some tomorrow and let you know the results tuesday.
Okay, this is an issue. I don't usually play this card, but I would not be married to any woman who doesn't have a pair of silkies around....
