24 Gallon Tank

My dad got me a 24 gallon biocube for my birthday this year.

That was in February 2008. Right now I have Green Brain Coral, Orange Polyps, Serpent Starfish, Peppermint Shrimp, 3 Turbo Snails, Leather Coral, Yellow Clownfish, Purple Psuedochromis, and Diamond Goby. I am ready for a new tank addition whether it be coral, fish or whatever.

I don't care. I would like some input from some of you experienced reefers,

so help me out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

How are your nitrates, nitrites and ammonia doing? Do you dose with calcium?

Everything is going great!! We've never had any really bad things happen...

And no I don't think I dose with calcium or not. My dad would know. He helps me with all of that stuff. HAHA

I just would like to know what everyone else has in their tank that small. And thank you for being the first to finally reply.

i would add a coral. i think you are maxed out with fish. maybe a cleaner shrimp would do some good.
if you choose to add a coral, what room do you have left?
lets see a pic and we'll try to pick a coral for an empty spot somewhere.

One other thing I would like to mention is that I have been looking at Coral Beautys since I got my tank and I wanted to know if they are good fish in this tank and what kind of experiences people have had with them. So all of you CB owners.. post away!! Thank you!

I had a coral beauty once. It was a very shy fish and did not like the more aggressive tank inhabitants. It's a beautiful fish though... I agree with the others that you are probably maxed out. It's good that you have not had any problems... but there comes a point to when you add too much fish that things start dieing

Well I can give you my experience. I had my 30 gal going for a while. A coral beauty in my opinion deserves alot bigger tank. Mine drove me nuts swimming back and forth all day long. They are active fish and should be in a bigger tank.
Another thing to keep in mind about them, some say they like to nip corals. Mine never did but you can get some that will nip corals.
I do agree with the amount of fish you have in there right now that you are maxed out. What I would add like already mentioned is a nice cleaner shrimp and of course more corals.....

I definetely wont add anymore fish unless I trade one in or something. What kind of coral do y'all suggest?? Thanks on the advice for the coral beauty too!! All of this really helps!

I don't really know. But I do know I sound kinda stupid not knowing all of this stuff. Sorry about that!! But I know my lights are great. We fragged my dad's leather and put some pieces in my tank and they are growing nonstop!! It's great to see them.

Well some I would mention but you might not like them all are:
Mushrooms
Zoas
Green Stary Polyps
Toadstool (if you don't have one already)

I have had a very good success rate with Zoas... They are beautiful and very easy to care for. Just make sure you have enough lighting and that your nitrates are low.

Are there any kind of zoas in particular that are better than any other?

Also, are zoas easy on the wallet? Cuz if they're not then I'm sunk!

there are zoos people will give away for free, and there are zoos that are 25 dollars a polyp. it all depends on the color, and the fancy schmancy name.

I'm thinking about trading my biggest piece of fragged leather in to my lfs. If I did, what would be the best thing to get for my tank?
