240 gal. tank / mag. 24 to much?

I just got my 240 gal. glass tank this weekend. I set it up in my garage to test all the equipment. There is a sealife systems premirer 300 wet/dry filter with a Mag 24. The overflows have two 1" holes the drain into the filter. I have 4 "U" shaped siphen tubes in the overflow, and I can not open the Mag 24 all the way. How can I increase my overflow to be able to open the Mag 24 all the way up? What are the overflow and Mag 24 rated for? Will adding the extra 2 "U" siphen tubes increase the overflow, or am I limited by the 2 1" drain holes?

Your going to be limitted by the 2 1" drain tubes, but you might try another U or 2, just make sure your overflow box doesn't overflow. You could always add another overflow box
