I want to add lets say 2 leopard sharks. Maybe something else suggestions?? Now as far as filtration goes this is what I have planned. I want to use a big rubbermaid container and put a dsb and some lr in there. Then have a big skimmer and return through a spraybar. Then in the tank just having a shallow sand bed and some lr. Could I make the wall tall but just against the back wall to leave plenty of room out front for swimming? Or would the sharks knock down the stack? I've never had sharks before so any hlep would be great.

you should make your rubbermaid into a wet/dry not a refugium...
a while back I made a thread on how to make one... try to buy large peices of LR becuase the leopards will topple any small pieces over.... I wouldnt do a spray bar because it will cut your flow too much.... good luck....

So do sharks need a lot of flow to keep oxygen rich water flowing through thier gills? Or do they just like a high flow rate? Also wouldn't 200-300 lbs of lr in a rubbermaid container be better than a wet/dry? Oh by the way the tanks is a 240.

I have over 200 lbs of lr in my main tank (I have large pieces)... I use this just to supplment to my filtration plus it looks great.... sharks are meat eaters so they produce alot of waste which requires a solid filter.. just having live rock will not cut it IMO... you need good flow to turn the water in the tank over (meaning more water passes through your wet/dry the better)
