I have a 60gal and will be buying a 250gal in december. Could i but a shark egg in the 60? I have a visijet protein skimmer,emporer400. When i get the bigger tank i will turn the 60 gal to a sump.
does this sound good

sounds great....
a bigger tank will be realy useful when that sharks get 2ft long. That said, ensure when you do grow the tank that you get appropiate sized equipment. Thats visi-jet skimmer is pretty much useless now, and you will want a much larger more robust skimmer for the big tank. Water quality is key for a fish only tank

Wait till yo get the 250g. tank up and cycle, I don't think you have enough filtration on your 60g for a shark or any other big fish.

I would definately wait until the larger tank is up and cycling. I dont know how many times Ive read posts about something going wrong and now the person is trying to dump a fish.

My bad. I have a sealone protein skimmer. I had a visi jet skimmer and its on my desk but it broke. *looks at the broken pieces*

I would definately buy the egg. Its half the cost and reward is twice as good as buying it born. Ive done two of them.

I would wait until your 240g. is all setup and cycled then buy a egg. My neighbor has a 500g. shark pond and he also prefers to buy them in eggs because its more exciting.

I am pretty sure puffers will nip at a sharks fins so I would definately not get a shark egg or shark because of that.

You're going to want to keep your shark egg isolated from any type of nippers... a blue dot would fit that category.
Can you put an enclosure of sorts in to protect the egg?

the shark hatched yesturday and iam picking it up sat. its 5in
They have a small "sea of cortez stingray" in my LFS. The ray wouldn't do good in my 60gal until i get the bigger tank....right?
