I am no sure but I would say one.
Quotw from online store:
Two 250 Watt 14K Metal Halide Lamps
Nine Blue Lunar Lights and nine White Lunar Lights (for night-time illumination)
Dimensions: 36.0" X 8.25" X 4.5" without using the legs
External electronic ballast
Notice ballast not ballasts
No wait a second in the manual:
3. Plug the 3 prong power cord into GFCI protected outlets. You may use a timer to automate the lighting cycle.
Now they are saying plug the cord into outlets, boy I am lost.

Call the place that you are looking at purchasing from they should tell you.

Okay,
I bought MH lighting...each of my MH bulbs has its own ballast making 2, and the blue actinics have 1 ballast = 3 all together. Each light plugs into a ballast and the ballasts plug into the wall. I ordered my led moonlights separate, on a strip that is to arrive tomorrow. I don't know yet if it has a ballast of its own, or just plugs into the wall.
If yours comes with only 1 ballast than the lights plug into the ballast and the ballast has its own plug to go into the wall.

Flower your LEDS should have a transformer.

It could be a single ballast enclosure with two ballasts inside or it could be two separate enclosures. My Hamilton light fixture has 2-250w MH and 4- 65w PC's houses the two ballasts for the MH are in one enclosure and the other two ballasts for the PC's are in a separate enclosure. Both enclosures have two power plugs and switches so that I can control each half separately.

Okay,
I got two black boxes and one black rectangle. The rectangle controls the blue lights, is that a transformer?
I ordered moonlights, I haven't gotten them yet, due to arrive tomorrow. Is that what will have a transformer?
Since you are so patient to teach... What is the difference between a transformer and ballast?

I really want an answer to my question. I didn't want the thread to get buried so I posted again.
