i have a 29 gallon bio-cube and i want to know what would be a good upgrade for the return pump. ive heard a rio 1100. any advice would be great. the more flow the better i have lps/sps.
thx, matt
Are you switching pumps because the old one is dying, or do you want more flow. The stock pump is rated at 243 gph. A Maxi-Jet 1200 does 295 gph. You can also split the output with some loc-line. I did that on mine, and added a hydor rotating deflector on one side. I also have a Koralia 1 power head. Works great for me!
Don't buy a RIO! You'd be better off using that money to light a nice cigar, or buy some lottery tickets.
well i was looking at the doctors and they have a 370 gph i was woundering if that would be too much. i think since th mj1200 is almost 300 i dont think the other 70gph should be fine. any thoughts?????

will it fit though..?
I have had my tank for 2 years now. I have had 2 Rio 6hf pumps and love them. I broke the first one cleaning it. They are rated at 350 gph with a lower wattage (heat lower) than the stock pump. I recommend this pump.
JMO
where can you get them im lookin at the doctor and dont see any of that kind. they have an 1100 plus rated at 382 gph. spanko do u know the measurements??
Don't have the measurements but can tell you they fit right in the coamparment in the 3rd chamber just like the stock one. Just google Rio 6 hf, you will find a supplier.
