Is it ture that the fans from the 29g Biocube are pretty noisy?
Is the lighting of the 29 Biocube good enough to keep some soft corals happy? or would I have to upgrade the lighting ? :notsure:
cheers

We have a 29 gal biocube and I don't consider the fans noisy. We have some mushrooms, green star polyps, finger leather and zoo's that all seem to be doing well with the original lighting. This picture does not do them justice as we were having a brown algae problem at the time and the polys were not open.

I helped my stepfather setup is 29 Biocube and the fans are silent. However, when we first fired it up the fans did not spin and almost overheated before we noticed. We just had to help them get started by spinning them and they eventually started to spin on their own. His cube has been up and running for almost a month with no problems.

Thanks for all the info! I would like to hear from other 29g biocube owners to get their opinon about the stock lighting. Im thinking about buying a 29g biocube but am afraid the stock lighting is not strong enough and I do not want to spend any more money upgrading the lighting.

I thought that the stock lighting was not good enough to keep corals because it seems that almost everyone who owns a Biocube ends up upgrading the lighting. There are some people who have spent hundreds on lighting and that is not what i want to do. I just wanted to make sure that the stock lighting was good enough before buying a Biocube.
