29 Gallon Biocube.. please help.

Okay, I had everything measured out; I had done my research, and read the books.
I have two questions.
1) In the biocube, in the first chamber with the pad filters, are they suppose to be pressed up against the vent? Or just slide into the slots?
2) The place where I put my aquarium (still empty) is under a TV. What can be the bad effects? I really don't care to be flamed, but I have not read what can happen, I understand that you are not suppose to do that, so I need to figure out a new place. Or have any of you successfully had an aquarium by a TV?

I have the 29 gallon biocube.... the filter pad (carbon), will not fit in there on its own... not even if you try to stick it into the slots... i called oceanic and they told me that it was a flaw in the design of the biocube. As for the under tv thing... i wouldnt suggest it..... you can put it there if you want... but you will have tons of problems....

My filter cartridge would have slid into the slots but I removed it completely and have it laying on top of the grate of the middle chamber. I have also removed all of the bioballs and replaced them with Seachem Matrix (little absorbing pumice looking balls), then a Seachem Purigen bag over that, then some fiber floss/foam floss over all. I replaced the grate on top and then placed the cartridge filter on that. After talking to my lfs and reading other strings about what others have replaced the bioballs with, this is what I decided to try and it's been working great. I've only had my tank set-up since May 1st and so far I only have 40 lbs of live sand, 14 lbs of live rock, 3 different color legs hermit crabs and 1 peppermint shrimp. I am taking this real slow. So far, so good! I don't have a heater cuz my temp is always 80 -82 without it. We'll see come winter if I have to add one. I am going to add a powerhead next then I will introduce a coral or two. Good luck!
