29 Gallon build

Alright so i am acquiring a 29 gallon glass aquarium. 30x12x18. I am probably going to moving everything over from my current 14 gallon biocube (lr, coral, ls, onyx perc pair, inverts, clam, and a jawfish) to the new bigger 29. I was looking for some input on what kind of lighting i should get (retrofit or fixture) and what kind of protein skimmer and or refugium. My budget is going to be on a college budget but i know that its better to not skimp on lighting. All input is welcomed and appreciated. thanks

150 watt sunpod with a 20k radium bulb, that's it for the lighting. With that fixture everything will look gorgeous and you can keep anything, including clams, sps, anemones, etc. As for a skimmer, I don't know as I don't have one and just keep up with water changes. For a refugium, if you get the sunpod, the small cpr hang on the back fuge would fit perfectly. Take a look at fcatch's thread, he has the same tank, with the cpr fuge on the back seems to be working very well for him. In his case he had to cut a lot of the hood to make it work, but if you go open top with the sunpod you can just put it right on. IMO this would be the most ideal set-up that you can purchase.

I am looking at a 175w metal halide retro with a 2x24w t5 retro and building a canopy. This would be good too right? The fuge and water changes will be enough filtration without a skimmer?
thanks for the input

So i have decided that i want to get a single 175w metal halide retro fit to put over the 20gallon high. But now i am thinking twice, and think maybe i should go with t5 lighitng system...its 4x24watts. Which one would give me the best results
