I just saw a picture that has scared me to death. a banggai cardinal eating a firefish how often does that happen? is that something I need to worry about?

I wouldn't worry about it. It's very, very rare. If you can't get the Banggai to eat anything else, just add vitamins to the food he will eat and you should be okay. Have you tried a mixed frozen food?

thanks for the reply I know the midas is not a best fit for my tank just wish he was. I think I will research fairy wrasses cause I really like your longfin.
I am probably going to go with a blenny, goby, or wrasse the longfin is now at the top of my list along with the McCosker. Thank you

Yeah......I'm thinking of starting a new tank just for a longfin now. Thanks for those pictures; they're spectacular!
They really are great fish.

My carpenter wrasse jumped thru eggcrate :(
It was beautiful too :(
Basslets are awesome

I was lucky enough to save my precious fish, Swissguard. He jumped this morning
, don't know how much time he spent outside the tank. But thank God he IS alive and eating well. I can't beleive it, so they are pretty hardy fish, like everyone says.

I have not tried any mixed foods. he eats frozen brine and mysis and that's it
any mixed foods you guys recommend to try?
I like the basslets too they are really entertaining. don't they eat your sanils and stuff?
I saw a candy basslet that was really nice for like $300 to rich for me, he had really pretty coloring and came up to everyone not scared or shy very cool.

This basslet started eating from the first day, but only mysis, then i tried to lure him into other food, and it worked. I bought all of these and more, can't remember all of them right now.
Mysis
Spiruline Brine Shrimp
Angle Formula (for the Queen)
Carnivore Cuisine (for this basslet)
Cyclops
Emerald Entree
Marine Cuisine
All of my corals and fish are happier than ever
I feed like 2-3 frozen cubes daily, the turf algae scrubber is working pretty good. Best water parameters ever.

Try something like Bio-Pure Mega-Marine by Hikari or SanFrancisco Bay Marine Cuisine. Those should work. Both frozen mixtures that come in cubes.

If you can get it there the Rod's Fish Only formula is one of the best all around foods, that is all you need for frozen food

+1 I knew there was one I was forgetting earlier. How could I forget Rod's. Great for fish and coral.
