I have a 29 gallon reef tank with 60 lbs of Live Rock and 25 lbs of Live Sand.
Fish are: Purple Tang 2 1/2 inches, Clarkii Clown, Percula Clown & a Pigmy Angelfish.
Inverts: 10 Crabs, 6 Snails, 1 Cleaner Shrimp, 1 Emarld Crab, 1 mantis shrimp which I need to get out of there. (Came in the live rock)
Corals: One Anemone, One Xenia & One Finger Leather.
Eguipment: Whisper dual filter with bio-foam sponge, two powerheads one penguin 550 & one 900 Maxi-jet, Red Sea Protein Skimmer, One Heater, Retro Kit 2-65 watt PC lights = 130 watts total of one blue and one white light.
Any suggestions about the reef tank or things I should add or take out? Is this to much with the two powerheads in the aqauruim?
Thanks,
Greg

A 29g tank is way too small a tank to keep a purple tang for any length of time. You are going to have to upgrade or trade it in for credit. The two species of clowns may be a problem as they mature. A 29g is kind of small for them to establish territories.

I agree, with a 29 gal reef, you will not be able to sustain the purple tank for a long time, and thats an expensive fish to loose.
The clowns may become territorial and fight. so you may prepare to loose one of them.
The pigmy aangel, depending upon the species should be allright if the tank is mature. Be sure to watch it as it ages, as some pigmy angels wil nip at soft corals.
If you decide to take back the tang, which I reccommend (they need a much bigger tank), consider a small wrasse or goby.

4 fish is fine--but YOUR 4 fish are not. See if you can't lose the purple and clark clown for a couple of smaller fish.

My mother has a lemonpeel angel, 6-line wrasse and two perculas. She really wanted the wrasse, but I was afraid that it will be too much. However, so far so good. I would remove the tang and one of the clownfish. It's tough to hold back since there are a lot of fishes to choose from, but you want a healthy ecosystem, not one that will end up crashing.

I think I need to get the mantis shrimp out of the tank before I purchase smaller fish like the goby, etc... I will be looking to take back the Purple Tang and one Percula Clown and keep the Clarkii Clown and the Pigmy Angelfish. Then I will look for a goby or two.
