The pictures you're uploading are prob too small... Try uploading larger pictures. I believe you can go up to 500x500 pixels.. What you're uploading look more around 150-175 range.
You can also use the IMG tags to link to pics hosted elsewhere. You could put your pics on a personal web page and link to them at any size (with some discretion).
