Looks like somebody is getting a 29g nano cube this week or next
so when i get it i am not gonna use the hood it comes with...i found a new lamp to put on top that is fan cooled metal halide/T5 fixture that gives out 178 watts for $90 and it comes with all the bulbs too!!!! would this light be good for growing corals and such? or too powerful? please respond

depends on how many bulbs, and more importantly if it has individual reflectors. you dont want a light with reflectors that is one piece of aluminum, bent in different spots, but each light has its own piece of aluminum
Anyways, now that i think about it, that should be enough either way
