ok heres my setup
29g tank
canister filter
45 lr
40ls
c.l. 125 skimmer
36w uv steralizer
looking into m.h or t5 for lighting,
i want toadstool, xenia, polyps,shrooms
hows this sound,thanks for all replies

Not familiar woith the skimmer..but everything else sounds good, I think. The toadstool is going to get big.

ok thinking about cutting out the canisterfilter, and using a aquaclear 70to run carbon and then i read about a a.c 70 fuge mod,

Canisters are fine. I have successfully used a canister on my 125g reef tank. I have a Fluval 404 canister, about 130# of LR, 4" DSB and just for extra flow I have a 350 gph Skilter-never running the skimmer cause I don't need it. I had a sump/skimmer and it was a waste of $250. "But you have to clean the canister all the time to keep trates down". No, I clean it 1x/mo. If you could see the MASSIVE amount of life in my canister, you'd see that it is far from a trate factory. It is more like a fuge-full of all kinds of macro life and pods.
