3 day Weekend--what to do?

2 questions:
1) I am a new hobbyist. This is my first weekend away and I do not have a timer for my lights. I should leave them on, right?
2) I just got a BTA last night. What do I feed him, besides light?

A $10.00 timer would be better than none. 72 hours of constant light, your liable to come back to a tank of green water if you have any phosphates. Maybe some one with more exp. can elaborate on this.

Go to home depot they have individual timers for under 10 bucks. I have 3 on one power strip for different lights on my tank. They work perfectly and are easy to set. You are better off leaving the lights off for 3 days than leaving them on.

DO NOT leave them on for three days.
Go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy a $20 digital timer. It is far more reliable than the cheapo ones.

He doesnt need a digital timer for one light unit. Just get a mechanical timer. I have used them for years without having any problems.
