3 Gallon Hospital Tank???

:help: I have a sick Royal Gramma that everyone is attached to, so I was going to buy a 3 gallon pico tank at my local LFS for him to hospital in. Can you hospital in a tank this small? I am going to get a larger tank next year and turn my 20 gallon into a hospital, but till then I didn't want to spend all the money on the setup for the 20 gallon. The Pico I could use afterwards for a small desk tank. So I would get use out of it.
The pico is about 40 bucks with light, filter system and pump.

Don't know if this helps at all, but Sprawl-Mart carries a 10 gallon starter kit with a filter, cover, & lights for $30. This might be a more useful size as a hospital tank for this instance and in the future, but not sure if it would fit on your desk. I keep our 10g QT on a night stand in the guest room so any sick/new fish aren't disturbed by lots of foot traffic and movement. A quick google search for "aquarium dimensions" would get you the measurements of a standard 10g.

Eh, it might work for you, but I think it might be a bit small to house a royal gramma for 4-6 weeks.
A 10 gallon tank might suit you better. A 10 gallon tank is $9, the filter is about $10-$15, and then you would just need a heater. Basically, setting up a 10 gallon tank would be the same as the Pico one, if not cheaper. A 10 gallon would offer much more room for you though, as you are looking at dimensions of: 20 x 10 x 13 tall

I'll look for a 10 gallon. I did notice too that most meds come in doses for 10 gallons. That makes it a lot easier.

Got a bacterial infection around gills.....I had already moved him out of the main nano into the 20 gallon that I have with just coral. But to treat I am going to get that 10 gallon.
