In the past 3 months, I've set up a reef aquariun and have some questions. I have a 55 gal tank with 45# of rock that i cured for 3 weeks before adding to tank with live sand. I have 5 small fishes that are doing great. Over a period of the last 6 weeks I added 5 soft corals, 6-snails, 6-hermit crabs, 1-star, 2-anemonys(sp), 1- atlantic cucumber, 1-matrix crab, 3 peppermint shrimp. Everyone looks good and healthy. How do i rid the green algae from forming a very thin film on the glass every day which i remove with a magnet cleaner thing. And whenever I call Dr's Foster and Smith Live Aquaria help line I get a different person who always has a different answer from the person before about what I should be feeding all my stuff??? Right now I feed the 5 fish (clown and damsels) flake food, the serpent star, anemonies and peppermint shrimp get frozen shrimp and the soft corals get some liquid plankton (Zooplex at 2 tsp's every 3 days) and occassionally a disolved brine shrimp cube trickled out over the corals and occassionally an algae wafer which sinks to the bottom for the hermits. My ammonia is at 0 and nitrites are at .10 (sometimes 0). AM I DOING IT RIGHT??? And where should I go from here? (sorry for being so wordy)
