30-90 gallon reef package help!!!

the guy at LFS says that his vanuatu live rock is the best you can get. Its from his tank at home and is 2 bucks a pound. should i get it?

well it depends, i would look at it and if is nice looking rock then go for it.
But if is infected by any type of hairy algea, i would pass

2 bux is a great price. For for less dense and more porous rocks. That is what you really want. If it has GREAT corralline algae growth, I might be persuaded is the porouosness and density are not optimal. Definately look for nuissance algaes adn hitchhikers like aiptasia and the such.
