30 High Eclipse 2 Question

How do I get enough light out of the pre-existing hood that comes with the Eclipse to get some coral.

Also, has anyone had success with a reef tank using an Eclipse hood with retrofit lights? There is no room for a skimmer, which I think might be a problem.
