300g tank rock requirement

In my 75g I have about 75lbs of rock. When I get a 300g tank, will I need 300lbs of rock or can it be more open and use less rock? What would be a minimum amount for good filtration?

It really depends on the look you like. I personally like the less rock and more swimming room look, but others like a tank packed with rock. For filtration purposes it does not take alot of rock since you substrate will house beneficial bacteria also. My 125 does not have alot of rock but my corals are enormous so even if I did put in more rock the corals would not fit really well. It toatally depends on the look you want

I plan on buying at least another 75lbs when i get the tank and then I'll use the 75 in my current tank also. I plan on doing reed since my tang should be reef safe. I'll probaby go with a DSB in the fuge only and use that starboard stuff in the tank or a SSB. Thanks for the info guys.

you want about 1.5/ 2lb per gallon for a reef setup depends on what you want. but the formula is 1.5/ 2lb per gallon
