I moved my main tank up stairs. Not an easy task I had to do some major patch work re-paint and plaster as it did not want to make the 180* turn up my stairs. So here are the pics everyone has been asking. The tank re-cycled it self in less than a week and I added morelive sand and now have 3" of the good stuff. No shark yet, I want to see how the chiller hold up on the second floor as the room temp is warmer. I think I may need a 1/2 hp drop in soon but hope the 1/4 can hold up. I also am going to try the aquac ev-240 on this tank. I have been told by may that they love it. So jason is sending me one out I'll let you know about it.
Pics were taken early this am prior to noon lights going on.
I'll get some better ones once it looks better.

I for got to do the poll.
Brown cat shark or Cali Horn shark
I say Cat shark for many reasons. But it is comming up on horn shark egg time here in so cal and I could get one easy. Just think I would feel better if my tank was more around 400-500G for the horn shark. However I could keep him for 10 years with a good feeding pattern and keeping the tank at 72*

Are those chromises in the tank? Looks great. Can't wait for a shark to go in there. What are the deminsions? Just wondering because that looks really cool.

yea 50 chomies in the tank. I am letting them get used to the tank, learn how to school and find places in the rock to hide and sleep. This is key as it will help with the fall out once I put a cat shark in here as the cat shark is known to dig and suck it's food out of the sand.
I really wanted to school fish but jacks and lookdowns need more room and need to be in large groups. To big IMO for the tank I have. I can do yellow tangs but they do not school like the chroms. People really over look this fun fish, and do great in odd groups. I get 50 for $120, and that is great. I might even put another 50 in as they do so well and my tank can take it. I have a major over kill system. I could go in to that but I'll save it if some one asks.

why a shark? go all out reef. You live in the wonderland of affordable coral. That tank is TOO small. No offense. I wish I had a tank close to that big. Still, it seems more conscientious to go for a reef Sweet setup though.

I say he should do shark, because you can do a reef in any size tank, but it bigger tanks, which only few have, to get sharks.

The tank was built with a cat shark in mind and maybe a cali horn shark. But a cat shark i can keep for life and i have just enough rock for all the caves he'll ever need. I plan on adding rock up but as it is now I have 4 main rocks holding the rest up and I have i have a foot all around the rock( from glass to rock) and 6" gaps for the shark to sit under the rock in the back is a foot high then sits up on the back wall. It looks like to much rock for a shark but cats and horns live in the rocks and cali horns have been known to have a area of reef where they live and have even been found 10 years later. So they stay put and don't move much. But still need good room and need to move with out hitting or rubbing the rock. This was my main goal when I re-did this. Prior it had only sand and one big cave in the middle.

The chiller is a JBJ but i'm looking at 1/3 hp drop in. I have all three pumps out of water( 2 little giants, and testing the Flagship Ehiem on the skimmer.) and do not want any more lines running around. As we all know in line can freez up, and burst at times and well 300g of water from a busted chiller is worth the extra for a drop in Im looking at a prime chiller. But not sure. I live 30 min from a MAJOR depot, that has tons of marine stuff. Its nice to live near LA and Orance County. The chiller works fine, and I have to many GPH on it but I cycle the tank 6.5-7 times an hour so it is fine. If I sell it i'll put in on the site.

Shark Bait, how much did the electrical bill cost you for a big tank? Thinking about a small shark pond (though my parents wouldn't let me) 260g. Since I don't pay the bills my parents wouldn't let me if there was a huge bill.

the new pics are up and running see the above link. MY LFS just got in 6 perfect 5 inch yellow tangs for me to school and I'll let them chill in the QT for a bit and I'll post the pics when they get in. I am still waiting for Sea World to call with my Brown baby shark. They have 20 or so eggs ready to hatch. I could even get a horn shark but i think i am just a tad to small in floor space for one to be really happy.
