I stand corrected.. Your right it is a Coral Catshark however it is not in the Bamboo family hince the name Catshark.
The Bamboo family is Hemiseyllidae and the Catshark family is Scyliorhinidae. With the coral being Atelomycterus Marmoratus.
Im correcting myself here as much as im correcting you so i do not intend for this to sound rude so i hope you do not take it that way.
With so many diffrent sharks in the aquarium trade today " and all of them having diffrent aquarium requirments" we as responsible aquariust should strive to be a little more accurate with the information we give.
You shark looks healthy and i hope where ever it goes it has a good home.

I agree with both of you and it was an error on my fault last night.
I meant to list it as a marbled catshark because that was the closest info and picture I found of it. I also found a link that states that is in the Bamboo shark family. http://zipcodezoo.com/Animals/H/Hemi...re/default.asp
Thanks for the interest in it and I really don't want to ship him because of his size.
The speckled carpetshark "Hemiscyllium trispeculare" is of the bamboo family but you shark is a Coral Catshark. I was mistaken when i labled it a Marbled sad as it is since i own an 18" Coral Catshark.
If you google marbled catshark, or marbled bamboo shark " aka whitespot bamboo shark" it will send you off in all directions. To many websites list the same common names for diffrent species of sharks so it can be very misleading or just plain incorrect.
Can you tell me the gender of your shark?
Males will have claspers like seen in this pic.
