Picked up a 36 bow tank and stand today..

I was a member here over 10yrs ago, I don't even remember my old name, And I don't have the old email add to figure out what it was, Anyway.. I had a 90gal tall for over 10 yrs and had to tear it down 9yrs a go....Saved the sand/crushed coal that I'm using along with 3 pieces of rock that I had in my old sump that been sitting in the basement for 9yrs..
Going to be adding so live sand and live rock nextweek...Then going to work on getting so lighting going..
Question on the lighting- I was looking at getting the-- 30” SunPod 1x250W HQI Fixture by Current USA
http://www.aquasythe.com/Products/30...T-CU01162.aspx
Or the--30” SunPod 1x150W HQI Fixture by Current USA
http://www.aquasythe.com/Products/30...SP-30-150.aspx
Should I send the extra on the 250w or will the 150w be good??
Thanks for any help on the lighting!

I think that for a 36 gallon a 150 would be sufficient
Thanks! I figured the 150 would be good, But I'm thinking I might go with the 250 anyway..

Hello, Got a little update!
Got about 20lbs of live sand and 40lbs of some live rock in,

I Don't know what I was thinking getting that Mag-Drive 3 Pump!
I'll have to get a 1400 pump, Something a little smaller for this Skimmer..

Also got the AquaC Remora Pro Protein Skimmer,

Also got a new CoralVue High Seas 201B High Output,

New light will be here Monday!

So, I got some live rock from SWF today.. After putting in a few pieces, I noticed something moving in the box, Looked little closer and what do you know, Ants.. Thats right, I said Ants!

Man, I didn't realize when they say Live rock, that meant live ants crawling on your rocks!

Anyone ever seen this before??

wow let them know about the ants. seems a quality control issue. IMO look into egg crate to help with jumpers and stack some LR to get some height in your tank. all in all it looks great so far

I just dropped them a email!
Ive been sick the last 3 days, And Could barely get the box opened and the rock put in the tank on Wednesday! And really haven't thought about it to much til now!
I'm still a little shocked about the whole thing! How the hell could 8 to 10 ants, That I could see!! End up in a cooler box filled with 25lbs of LR? On top of it, I'm VERY up happy with the LR it self!! Didn't look good at all! just wasn't good looking LR for what I paid!
Picked another ant out today, After my son seen it on the bottom!

Guess I'll be sticking to local fish shops from here on out!
Anyway.. florida joe, Them pic's are from before I put the 25lbs of ANT rocks in..I'll post some new pic's tomorrow!! I sure hope these rocks don't mess everything up!

Ants should really be no worry in the tank. They will die and just become part of the bioload for initial cycling. Did not check this out quick enough but I do believe that you would have been happier with the 250 watt Sunpod HQI in the long run.

Thanks! Yea, I was never really to concerned, Just more mad that it happened, And they never returned my 2 emails...
I couldn't find a 250 watt Sunpod in a 30" or the 150watt for that matter..I believe the discontinued them? Do you know where there's a 250watt 30in sunpod??
Anyway, Update..
Replaced the Mag-Drive 3 Pump with the rio 1400, Looks a little better! Also Threw 2 peppermint shrimp in, And the last 10lbs of LR..
