40 gal light help

i currently have just a 38 watt aquarium light but would like to upgrade so i can put some kind of corals in the tank i have around
30 lbs of live rock
2 clowns
4 snails
3 assorted damsels
what type of light would anyone recommend tank is 36'' long 24''tall 12'' deep any responce will help

Depending on what you want to raise an ATI or Tek 4 lamp T5 fixture will work.
A 250 watt halide in a good pendant would work too. You couldn't have high light critters at the ends with the halide but running two halides to get full coverage would be pricey.
