40 gallon breeder footprint

You can make a custom made tank that's 94 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 10 inches high? That's still a 40 gallon and you'll be able to keep tangs in a 40 gall!!

+1 I just set up a 50 breeder with the same 36X18 footprint. Only difference between the two is the 50 is two inches taller.

yeah... but i want a standard 40 gallon breeder, i dont want to have to build it, and i dont like tangs. soooo EPIC FAIL.

yeah... but i want a standard 40 gallon breeder, i dont want to have to build it, and i dont like tangs. soooo EPIC FAIL.

A 50 breeder is a standard tank, although not as common as the 40 breeder. You should be able to find one without too much problem.

not exactly..the AGA 30Breeder is 36x18x12 same as 40breeder footprint just not as tall.
BUT the Perfecto 30Breeder is a 30x18x12 footprint..its 6" shorter

Uh, how is it 6" shorter, but has the same volume?
36 x 18 x 12 / 231 = 33.7, which minus the glass is probably about 30
30 x 18 x 12 /231 = 28.1 is probably closer to 25.
I didn't know the 50g with the same footprint existed until recently either, until I saw a used unit for sale at the LFS. I refuse to call it a breeder b/c its too tall versus traditional breeder tanks.
