Hi.
I have a 75 gal. tank that I want to use for a reef set up. I was looking at 350-400 watts of lighting for it. its 48x18x20. Can someone PLEASE tell me the best brand they can suggest to buy, and the cheapest one too. im on a budget. I would like one for $100 or less...if possible.
Thanks

Good luck! I spent more than your budget on a 130w power compact fixture for my 24" wide tank, and it won't be sufficient for many of the things that would be nice to have in a reef---really just good for soft corals, MAYBE a hardy anemone at a stretch and put at the top of the tank. I kinda doubt you'll find anything 400w and 48 inches wide for under $100. All I can suggest is that you consider upping your budget and looking around for a good used unit.

Actually, check over on the classifieds board. Someone is selling a 48" 4 x 65w power compact unit over there for 75 bucks. It's not 400 watts, but it would be a great start for the money!
