45 Day old 125 (non-drilled) tank.

Ok so I've had my tank up and running for about 45 days now and I haven't had any issues at all. Its a 125 (non drilled) tank, I do have a sump as well as protein skimmer. I have a a dual powerhead pushing a nice current through the tank. My post is generally for what to look out for or what general tips I may need. I have about 40lbs of live rock as well as a additional 25lbs of base rock. Listed below is what is currently in my tank. Any and all feedback is great.....
I also would love to know what suggestions for what other fish I should add as well as cleanup crew (I currently have a small crew)

Add more rock, even just base.try creating some caves and over hangs. You could have issues w that trigger once it matures. Looks good tho

I plan to add more base rock i have a few pieces of live rock already in there. I been reading alot about the aggression of the Triggers and i got him for so cheap that i just agreed to take him. I may try to trade him in at the LPS and see what happens. Im still on the fence on a community tank or predator tank...... As of right now the Trigger doesn't bother any other fish i am concerned for my shrimp though.

If it's dry rock, a good rinsing with a nozzle to remove residue is all it needs. Let it dry and put it in the tank. Live rock normally needs to be re-cured if it's shipped, as there's almost always some die-off. As for adding fish, you're already over the limit with the Koran and Regal. They're rated for much larger tanks... :O

It will probably be okay to keep it until it's 10"-12", but that would be the max size you should keep it in a 125. It may be harder to let it go by then, but it would be cruel not to. I can't tell how big it is in the vid, so I can't tell about what kind of timeframe you're looking at. It appears that it has plenty of space at the moment. It'll eventually require more...

I'm not gonna lie I was so excited to get it and for the price I got it for I overlooked how big of a tank I needed to have to keep him/her......I'm sure it's a good 4 inches right now

Ok ok ok after some research I decided to take my Humu Tang to my LFS and trade him in for either a....

Diamond Goby
Or
Scopas Tang
Or
Spotted puffer


Any suggestions???????

Diamond gobies are sand sifters and should be introduced to a mature tank (6 months or older) so there is plenty of food in the substrate. Green spotted puffers are not recommended for novice hobbyists. That leaves the scopas tang, which should work nicely.

I appreciate the information!!! My only question is when buying live sand is that not providing all the microorganisms would need to eat? Or does buying live sand not provide that??????

I agree w pegasus. Some gobies will eat prepared foods but you have to plan on that not being the case.

Took your advice and traded my Trigger for the Scopas Tang and bought a Flame Angel and I appreciate the advice new video coming soon! !!!!!!!!!!
