i'd say maby up to 20 horses. lots of fake and real plants. grape vine/caulerpa is great aswell as grasses and kelp. a sponge filter i'd suggest. but i use a hang-on-the-back for my 2.5 tank.

like mentioned probably 20 or so, but start out smaller because they'll breed easily and youll be flooding shortly after.
you'll need posting hitches, fake or real(most use fake)....your tank must be sterile so you dont get things like hydroids, etc. Panacur is a medicine you should have as it will help take care of these things, and anything live should be treated before putting in the DT....you'll of course need to feed baby brine shrimp daily...as for the filter any HOB or sponge filter will work just fine. Remember for any intake you must cover it with a type of sponge so the dwarves do not get sucked in....one of the easiest ways to lose them i think

livesand and rock is not a good idea as you have potential for a lot of bad hitchikers...you have to remember what is safe in a normal tank will mostly be deadly to these guys....i didnt like the fake look like freshwater so i used dead sand and dead rock....but thats up to you and what you want....seahorses wild caught can be 6-10...and captive 15-20...captive of course is the recommended. I dont really have any specifics on a HOB filter...just get a single and it should be enough and of course cover the intake...and then if needed you can add a tiny powerhead(again covered intake)
do a search here and google for a brine shrimp hatchery...i had a setup i think worked great and others do too here, just search around and you'll find it...or you can buy them as well on different sites...just dont use the petsmart bbs hatchery that is a black box and tube...they have a very bad hatch rate...you can find decapped bbs online as well.

Dead Rock. I bleached all my LR and LS shortly after my Aiptasia disaster. The little monsters ate all but 7 of my ponies.
Funny You should mention 5.5, I just set one up!!! I'll have pics tomorrow

there are some that you can buy out there that are very good and recommended...but they run about $30 each...so you make them a lot cheaper, but thats up to you if you can do DIY....as far as rock its really up to you and what you like...just dont pack a ton in there and not have room for hitches

you can get it from a vet....i never tried but heard you can...otherwise just google Panacur and some seahorse sites should come up..its also called Fenbendazole

you might also look into other meds like formalin and Methylene Blue...its usually to late for seahorse treatments, but its good to have things on hand just in case you have time....also you'll need enrichments for your bbs....i personally used naturose and vita chem...its good to mix it up though...selco is another possibly one, but watch out for some because there are enrichments that are fatty like selco where you only want to soak the bbs in them for 2hrs or so...otherwise they get ruined
